7 Signs You’re Ready For A Serious Relationship, But Your Partner Isn’t “The One”

Relationships can end because you have to figure out what you want and who you are. You need time to figure yourself out. You need to know what you want in life, the little things that make you happy, giddy, sad, and even the things you do not like before you can try and understand a whole other person. Know that it is okay to take this time for yourself. I had a conversation with an old friend from my hometown back in Connecticut who gave me advice from her personal experience. She gave me insight to a whole new perspective on relationships. She told me about her past relationship and why it failed. It took her time to figure out what the actual reason was and after months of being on her own again and learning more about herself she realized what it was. The reason was simply herself, and she was without a doubt okay and utterly satisfied with that notion. I have uncovered a new perspective and understood that it is okay to take time.

The Beauty And The Pain Of Meeting The Right Person At The Wrong Time

Was your vision impaired years ago when you let the love of your life get away?? Meeting an amazing person at the wrong time has probably happened to most people at one time in their lives. How often do we hear of couples reuniting at a high school reunion 20 years later? Was it really bad timing or was it really just the wrong person? Knowing when it is purely a physical lust or true love, is the answer to your haunting question.

It just feels right and the relationship adjustments are not obstacles but reciprocated compromises.

Timing is such an interesting concept. When it comes to dating, we often hear the phrase, “Timing is everything,” and while there is some truth there, I can’t help but wonder–is there ever really a “right” time? After all, isn’t time relative? Through various conversations in the past, and my personal experience, I’ve noticed that part of the problem with this idea is that there is a different approach from men and women when it comes to meeting the right person at the wrong time.

To help illustrate this, I conducted a Twitter poll for ladies and gents to see what each would do and it turned out just as I’d predicted. The votes were super close, but generally speaking, when met with someone of potential or interest, women tend to make an effort to fit this person into their life regardless of where they are on their personal journey. Men, however, would rather let this person go, handle their shit, and then reevaluate the situation once things are where they feel they should be in their life.

That’s exactly what I’ve experienced in the past, and that can cause issues. People tend to assume that everyone operates the same way they do, and while it’d be awesome to have the cheat codes embedded in us, that’s not the case. However, with this idea, we become frustrated when faced with opposing actions that, for us, mean something differently than what they may mean to the other person. Classic example: I like a guy, I go after said-guy regardless of being in a weird, transitional phase in my life, because who the fuck cares, this guy is amazing.

Therefore, when a guy meets me, tells me I’m amazing but “isn’t ready for a relationship” and then bounces, I’m like WTF? He must not mean it. I must not be amazing.

First, consider this: everyone wants a perfect partner, but few people want to be the perfect partner. For years, I probably obsessed a little too much over this part of my life. You can opt out at any time. See my privacy policy. Neediness occurs when you place a higher priority on what others think of you than what you think of yourself. Any time you lie about your interests, hobbies, or background, that is needy. Any time you pursue a goal to impress others rather than fulfill yourself , that is needy. You can say the coolest thing or do what everyone else does, but if you do it for the wrong reason, it will come off as needy and desperate and turn people off.

This is because neediness is actually a form of manipulation, and people have a keen nose for manipulative bullshit. Think about the way you feel when someone is blatantly trying to sell you something with high-pressure, salesy tricks.
